Ken Erickson was born and raised in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. At 21, Ken was involved in a life threatening accident that changed and focused his plans for the future. He decided to attend the gunsmith program at the Colorado School of Trades, where he graduated from the 24 month certification program in just 12 months. He took his skills to St. Louis, Missouri and opened a small shop that grew into a full service indoor shooting range with a sales and service center. After 20 years as a gunsmith, Ken retired and moved his family back to his home state of Wisconsin. There, he set his sights on making handcrafted knives. Many of the skills Ken honed as a master gunsmith have translated seamlessly to the art of knife making.
Ken has been making knives since 2002 and specifically, traditional pocket knives since 2006. He makes each knife one at a time, performing every individual operation himself, including heat treatment.
Ken and his wife, Nettie, reside in beautiful Waupaca, Wisconsin.
